Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a service for library patrons through which the Chippewa Falls Public Library attempts to obtain books, articles and some audiovisual materials not owned in the MORE (My Online Resource) consortium. We have access to library collections throughout Minnesota, Wisconsin, the Dakotas, and with some restrictions, to library collections elsewhere in the United States.

Interlibrary Loan is available at no charge to all patrons with a valid Chippewa Falls Public Library card. To avoid delays, always check the MORE catalog to see if we own the material before submitting interlibrary loan requests. It may take several weeks for an item to arrive, depending upon the location of the lending library and the popularity of the item. Recently released materials may not be available.

The library lending the material assigns the due date. If you pick up the item loaned as soon as you receive notice of its arrival, the loan period will usually be between two and three weeks. The item must be returned to the Chippewa Falls Public Library.

We accept a few interlibrary loan requests per patron per week:

To check on the status of an ILL request, call (715) 723-1146 (menu option # 3) during regular business hours.

Items checked out at other libraries within the Indianhead Federated Library System may be returned to the Chippewa Falls Public Library. They will be returned to the proper library through Interlibrary Loan channels. The return process may take up to a week.
