2013 Summer Reading Program

DIG INTO THE PAST
Registration for Summer Reading Clubs,
ages 2-6 or for ages 7-11, 
June 10 - July 26, 2013

Children & families can visit the library to choose what they want to read as part of a
summertime mix of activities & reading. Literacy skills can be developed early by participating in programs like this one & are strengthened when children read during the summer months.

June 18 - Naturalist, Randy Korb - The Frog Guy at the City Hall Basement 1:30pm

June 26 - Circle Art for Preschoolers 11am (no storytime today) 
No registration needed.

June 27 - Circle art for schoolagers going into grades 1 - 5 from 2-3:30pm

Register for this event.

July 3 - Wii Gaming 1:30-4pm for ages 8-14
Registration needed.

July 11 - Chippewa Valley Gem & Mineral Society Info & Crafts at the Library
12-2:45, or  3-5pm rock info & crafts for kids
6-8pm Guest Speaker Paul talking about rocks for children ages 10 & up,
&  also crafts for kids of all ages. This is a great opportunity
for kids to bring in their favorite rocks and get them identified.

July 16 - Dog Care, Safety & Training 1:30 - 2:45pm
at Irvine Park in the Roger-Meir Shelter across the parking lot from the fenced-in fountain.

Meet a vet tech, an agility trainer, a police officer and a dog rescuer & transporter. Learn basic pet first aid, safety info, dog care, and training tricks from experts here in the Chippewa Valley.

July 24 - Ninjago Battle 2-3pm
Brain battle your friends  with trivia & games, at our ninjago program
Win a free LEGO Ninjago book in random drawings. Call to register and get more info.

July 30 - Chalk Art 11-11:45am
Join other children ages 5 & up to create a pathway of circles on the sidewalk outside the Heyde Center otherwise known as the Chippewa Valley Cultural Association.
No registration needed.

August 12 - Typography Art at the Heyde Center 11-11:45am
Re-create art based on the work of Mel Bochner,  & explore new & old font styles.
No registration needed.
