Weds Book Kids Storytime
|
Children ages 3-6 are invited to join us for our summer storytime sessions. Each session consists of a 20 minute storytime followed by a short craft or activity. No registration is required. No storytime june 26. Come to our preschool art program instead.

This program is geared to children with sensory issues, or children on the autism spectrum. We have sensory toys, cushions, a tent and a beanbag chair to make your child's storytime experience feel good.

Kids Animated Movie
|
Popular movie about a video arcade game villian that breaks free of his game and looks for a game where he can be a hero! Popcorn provided. Bring a cup for water from the drinking fountain. Movie is rated PG. Children under age 12 must have a signed permission slip or have their parents accompany them into the movie.

Children ages 3 - 6 or those who have not yet entered kindergarten are invited to attend this hour of circle-themed art. There will be some process art avtivities as well as guided art activities. There is no need to register for this drop-in program.

Circle Art for school-agers
|
Kids who have completed grades kindergarten and up are encouraged to join us for a few art projects. We will have several stations where children can complete process or guided art activities geared to their skill levels. Children may not need the entire time allotted to finish their activities. Registration is encouraged, but walk-ins will be accommodated.

Rocks & Gems Crafts & Evening Talk
|
Staff from the Chippewa Valley Gem & Mineral Society will be on hand to do rock crafts with kids from 12-2:45, 3-5 and 6-7:45pm. There will be several stations with fun activities for children to learn about rocks, or do experiment with rock art. In the evening staff member Paul, from the CV Gem group, will be on hand to discuss some aspect of rocks with adults & kids ages 10 & up. Children can do crafts while the older family members some & listen to the talk. This is also a great opportunity for kids to bring in their favorite rocks for identification.

Dog Care, Safety and Training
|
Are you a dog lover? Is family considering a new pet? Either way join us at Irvine Park to listen to 3-4 experts in the Chippewa Valley. The first person is a vet tech at an animal clinic, the second person is a dog rescue & transporter. The thirs person is a certified dog trainer. She will have her dog on hand to demonstrate how agaility training can be done with dogs. The last person to speak will either be a police officer, or someone who used to work at the Chippewa County Humane Society. Daycares & summer daycamps are welcome to join us! Since it is being held in July and the weather will probably be hot, beverages will provided. Thinking about bringing your pet, Fido? All dogs must be on a leash. Event location in Irvine Park is in the Roger-Meier shelter, across the parking lot from the fenced fountain.

AUTHOR VISIT & OPEN MIC NITE

Meet Eau Claire poet Richard Teplar. He will be reading from his children's poetry book: Walk with Me, Sawyer Bear.
Signed copies of his book will be available for purchase for $19.95. We invite other poets or writers, who wish to share their works, to come to this event. The mic is also open to youth who would like to share jokes with an audience. All jokes must refrain from the use of swear words and be in good taste for a mixed audience of children and adults.

Ninjago Ninja Program

Calling Ninja warrior wannabes. Do you like the ninja warriors Kai, Zane, Cole, Jay & Sensei-Wu? Discuss your favorite characters and books with friends. We will also do some activities to test your knowledge of all your favorite Ninjago warriors. A random drawing will be held for 2 Ninjago books.
You must be present to win. Please register at the children's desk for this event. Children must be able to write words to answer trvia questions.

Typography Art at the Heyde Center
