Please join us on October 12, 2016 at 7 PM for a poetry reading by Chippewa Falls native Linda King.
Linda King began her love of the wilderness as a child in a family of outdoor enthusiasts. A 1980 graduate of Chippewa Falls Senior High School and daughter of local residents Calvin and Donna Kraemer, she grew up exploring the lakes and woods of north central Wisconsin, hiking the Ice Age Trail and canoeing the Boundary Waters. She spent her early adult years in north central Montana and currently lives with her husband, David, on the southwest coast of Washington state.
About Elk Bones: Elk Bones is much more than a Saturday afternoon stroll in the woods to snap pictures of tall trees, idyllic winding streams, birds and wild flowers. Instead, the author takes us on a compelling journey where we experience nature's joyful beauty, wonder, darkness, and... the ominous threats to its future. These thirty-seven poems share a life-long spiritual odyssey into a vital part of our lives that we too often take for granted.
