Monday, March 10th from 10am – 2pm (drop in) Balloon Car Racing
Drop by the Children’s Area to use balloons and other supplies to see how far your car can go down the track. Adult supervision and assistance may be necessary.

Monday, March 10th from 4 – 6pm (drop in) Rubber Duck Cosplay
Dip your toes in the water with cosplay! Each participant will get one or more rubber ducks and then the sky is the limit! You can also make yourself a button or other piece of jewelry to match your rubber duckie. Supplies provided will include glue, acrylic paint, sequins, glitter, clay, popsicle sticks, felt, yarn, broken and aged toys to take apart, cardboard, beads, and SO much more! Drop-in program. We recommend arriving by 5:15 to give yourself enough time.

 

Tuesday, March 11th at 10:30am Loose Parts Playdate!
Kids ages 3 and up and their caregivers can join us for open-ended sensory play, exploration and creativity featuring stations stocked with materials of all different shapes, sizes, colors, sounds and textures. Different suggestions for exploration each week!

Tuesday, March 11th from 9am – 3pm (drop in) Break-Out Boxes & Bags
In the Children’s Area. Back by popular demand! Solve puzzles, clues, secret codes, and word problems to break into the boxes and bags! Anyone who successfully breaks the codes will earn a prize. Boxes will be tailored to and labelled for 3 different age groups: early elementary, later elementary/middle school, and middle/high school. Solve individually, with friends, or as a family. Children in elementary school may need assistance. Boxes may take about 20-45 minutes to solve. (FYI Break-Out Boxes are like escape rooms but on a much smaller scale.)

 

Wednesday, March 12th at 9:30am Baby/Toddler Storytime
Caregivers and their birth—3 year olds will join library staff for developmentally-appropriate fingerplays, stories, songs, and more for 15-25 minutes.

Wednesday, March 12th at 1pm Wolf Center Tales
The International Wolf Center out of Ely, MN will join us remotely to share facts, stories, and videos about wolves.

 

Thursday, March 13th at 9:30am Preschool Storytime
Children ages 3 and older who are able to interact and join a group for a longer period of time will participate in stories, songs, instruments, dancing, and more for 30-40 minutes.

Together with library staff, kids birth and older plus their caregivers will sing, dance, hear stories, and so much more for 30 minutes.

Drop by the Teen Area to play a wide selection of Switch games. You are welcome to bring your own device or take turns borrowing our Switchlite. Snacks will be available. CFPL is not liable for any damage, issues, or problems that arise with personal devices. Staff do not have extra chargers on hand. NEW! We have opened this program up to ages 10-18.
